Back where my Pennsylvania family lives, this is what I might see if I walked down the road.

While strolling the other morning in this city “Somewhere in Asia” I snapped this shot of a novice monk with his begging bowl.
By the grace of God and the Buddha, I live in both worlds.
Despite appearances, these worlds are not that different.
Really.
A yellow Amish "horse and buggy crossing" sign that is so common on the roads of my home state, and a sign I saw on a boat taxi in Bangkok, Thailand this past Christmas.

Below: These are the buggy wheels that I see on the roads outside my parents' home. (image via) Below it, the trishaw is one of the main forms of transport in this country "Somewhere in Asia". The two guys loved when I showed them the screen of my digital camera. They had ever seen a digital image of themselves.
Hi, I miss you and am glad to see you are still blogging. I would be but back in October, when my typepad payment was due, we were so poor that I had to cancel the blog. I felt like I was giving up on my creativity and was really depressed about the decision but I actually needed the 4.95 to feed my kids. I haven't checked in here much since then either and have been really preoccupied lately, our baby is due tomorrow.
Ruthie died about two weeks ago and her memorial was really sweet. I've been wondering about you. Email me if you want.
Miss you.
